I grew up in The Netherlands, well known for windmills and cheese. I remember being perched on a stool in the corner of the kitchen, watching my dad cook dinner. He was meticulous in his preparation and only used the best and seasonal ingredients. It was good, family food, with integrity. I didn’t realise it at the time, but his high standards and do-it-yourself attitude would follow me through years and across seas to my new home in Margaret River, where I am surrounded by a strong sea breeze, ethical farmers, bountiful produce and an exquisite food and wine scene.
Life in this town is fantastic. I dived deep into the foodie culture and spent many years overseeing the service of winery restaurants. When I needed a change it was a natural step to mix my experience in fine dining perfectionism with healthy, home-cooked meals, and the idea for From Scratch was born, raised and baked.

Making food and eating well takes a village and it is through the lovely Margaret River community that I have met most of my suppliers. I speak with them every week to find out what is available and growing well and sometimes base the whole menu around one ingredient that catches my eye as I wander through the veggie patch. This means your healthy, ready-made meals are packed with variety, freshness and flavour. They are also 100% gluten free, almost always at least 99% organic and seed oil free.
My commitment to ethical food doesn’t stop at the ingredients, either. I use BioPak packaging with aqueous lining (with plans for a reusable solution in the future), buy dry ingredients in bulk, and have creative ways for using left-over produce to minimise waste. Most importantly, I make everything myself.
The fresh menu changes weekly but you can also find old favourites in the freezer section – perfect for the weeks when even ordering is too hard.
Planning, cooking, and sharing food is one of my greatest pleasures and I am excited to bring you From Scratch, the fresh and local meal delivery service that feeds your family honest food made with love.
